The Beyond Retro Archive is a design reference and inspiration resource. We understand the crucial importance of the past in relation to the ever-evolving future. At the Archive you can go straight to the source of vintage knowledge and research.
We offer original vintage print swatches and specialist vintage garments. The collection reflects the evolving styles, printing and construction techniques throughout fashion history and dates back as far as the Victorian era. Our covetable treasure trove is visited by design teams, trend forecasters and company directors working within luxury and contemporary fashion, interiors, surface and product design. 19th Century gothic jackets hang near 1920's glass beaded flapper dresses, 1950's tea dresses, vintage denim and World War military items. An abundance of fabric swatch offers every form of print from floral and paisley to conversational, abstract and geometric.
We have been well received at key industry tradeshows, including Premier Vision in Paris and Direction in New York. Our globally sourced collection is an unrivalled resource. We have strong working relationships with leading trend forecasting companies such as Stylesight enabling us to provide our clients with up-to-the-minute trend prediction information and expertise. We hold in excess of 6,000 fabric swatch and garment pieces on site. The evolving repertoire is constantly being updated with new additions and is reviewed in response to the needs of our international clients. In addition to the permanently housed collection our team is able to select from over 10,000 different hand-picked items per week in order to source specific styles to fit our client's criteria.
Consultation is by appointment at our UK Head Office, where visitors are welcome to view the current showroom. Strict client confidentiality has been a key factor in the success of the Archive. The secure handling of information enables us to work in sync with client's design direction through the seasons as it develops across the year.
