The Position:
The Global Merchandising Manager at Beyond Retro serves as a seasoned advisor embodying our company's ethos
and values. At the core of the role is analysis of sales trends, alongside meticulous stock planning and forecasting.
With confidence, you interpret data, formulate insights, and present findings to senior leadership. You have the
experience to challenge current systems and processes in order to maximize the department's potential, while
adhering to Beyond Retro’s long term Strategic Plan. You have the ability to motivate and strengthen your team in
order to drive Beyond Retro forward and deliver outstanding results while encouraging positive change where
necessary. Above all, you are open to new ideas. Due to the uniqueness of our product, merchandising at Beyond
Retro remains fluid, constantly progressing. As a successful Merchandiser you are creative and always willing to
learn.


Responsibilities:

People

- Manage clear communication between Buyers, Shop Managers, Finance, Marketing, Pricing Department and Product Team, Nordics Merchandising Team and your team which includes a Business Analyst.
-  You will have a close working relationship with the Nordics Merchandising and Pricing Departments.
-  Be a coach who prioritises developing individuals merchandising skills focusing on such areas as profit,
margins, stock turns, sales, pricing, planning processes, time management, etc

Commercial Awareness
- Aid the retail team in driving sales in order to achieve the set financial targets
- Have an excellent awareness of core products, themes, stories and the look and feel to the stores so you can advise from a commercial perspective on the customer journey.
- Understand the customer and their needs

- Maintain awareness of market trends, regularly tour vintage and high street competition and share
insights with teams.

Merchandising
- Develop comprehensive plans for trading, including forecasting and controlling stock levels by channel & store.
- Forecasting seasonal product mixes in alignment with finance targets and new business initiatives for
all product lines; vintage and upcycling.
- Lead weekly trade meetings, providing insightful analysis and actionable insights derived from sales
reports and performance.
- Strategically maximize profits and minimise markdowns, through sales planning, forecasting, range
building, analysis and balancing of stock and developing strategic promotions.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen by making business decisions that benefit both the customers
and the profitability of the company.
- Oversee the allocation and pricing strategies and goal for products across various channels and shops
- Review product availability, review stock and fulfil product gaps with the shops in order to maximize sales
- Analysis of seasonal stock and data by channel by store identifying any trends, patterns and recommending necessary adjustments.
- Provide valuable feedback to buyers, including insights into volume drivers, margin performers and underperforming product lines.
- Utilize category management and market analysis to create a supply strategy that will maximise our competitive advantage.
- Lead pricing meetings, analyze reports, collect insights and present findings to relevant teams for
review
- Have a clear understanding of Beyond Retro’s price elasticity of supply and the ability to articulate that into objectives for all teams.


Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
- 5 years relevant work experience in Fashion or fast-moving consumer goods industry.
- Bachelors in Business, International Management, Marketing and/or Sales.
- Experience and knowledge of Product Assortment.
- 1-2 years demonstrated management experience plus cross functional partnerships.
- Computer/Software Applications: Microsoft Office Suite. Adobe illustrator is a plus.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written, strong cross functional collaboration skills required.
- Strong presentation skills, proven ability to influence internal and external business partners and customers.
- Strong understanding of assigned marketplace, including regional differences, across diverse channels of distribution.
- Ability to play an integral role within a broader cross-functional team, to build consensus, connect department and individual expectations to the company vision, and achieve results across a variety of distinct groups.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proven knowledge of retail sales analysis and interpretation of data to identify opportunities.
- Experience in product forecasting and/or statistical modeling (a plus).
- Understanding of product development and manufacturing process (a plus).
- Ability to make decisions regarding the best approach to protect the organizations interests depending on a
given business situation and advise/act accordingly.
