Your Ultimate Guide On What To Wear To Different Festivals

Posted on July 19 2018

Whether you’re doing one festival this year or as many as you can squeeze into your weekends, here’s our guide to the ultimate staple pieces for this festival season. So if you’re heading to your annual favourite with a backpack full of glitter and tonic, or a festival virgin, we’ve got your looks sorted.

Wilderness Festival

2nd - 5th August

This 4-day festival mixes music, arts, theatre and everything in between with a sprinkling of glitter on top. As well as all this, you can head to the lake for a late night skinny dip and be at one with naturists, oops sorry... nature.

Headliners

Nile Rodgers & Chic, Bastille, Justice

This small festival brings out the best in people's wardrobes, with no outfit too OTT and with the fancy dress being top of the list when it comes to group dressing. Nothing says OTT more than this head-to-toe silver ensemble, perfect for you AND your friends. You can shop this entire look in-store and online!

Another go-to look for the weekend is clashing floral 70s prints with these must-have festival sequin hotpants, ideal for dancing to disco classics and French electro-pop. Ps. boys, your butts look good in them too.

Wear with chunky Dr Martens to help you navigate those muddy fields and keep you partying all night long!

Tip: Day 3 of festival hair? Use a vintage silk scarf to hide those greasy roots!

Bestival

2nd - 5th August

The wonderful world of Bestival is back for its second year in its new location at Lulworth Estate.  Each year brings the best in dance music, huge stage legends and obscurities from Club Dada to $hitdisco. And if their legendary Lionel Richie head or oversized disco ball didn’t tickle your fancy, this year will see the worlds BIGGEST confetti cannon, because Bestival doesn’t do anything by halves.

Headliners

Silk City, London Grammar, M.I.A

Welcome to the circus! This year’s Bestival theme is all things bazaar, we’re expecting to see a lot of clowns hanging about in the most colourful show this festival season!

Intrigued by the worlds biggest confetti cannon, our icons for this year's look are the Confetti Crowd girls, their fun bold styling is the perfect inspiration for these rainbow print leggings, bound to turn heads when paired with the perfect party top and heaps of glitter. Another look we’re totally obsessing over this festival season is sequins – shop your favourite party items to keep you looking glam all weekend long!

Tip: Take excessive amounts of glitter, and make sure it’s biodegradable just like Eco Glitter Fun!

Reading & Leeds

23rd - 26th August

Whether you’re from up north or down south, every teen has been to Reading or Leeds and this year is no exception. From classic moments back in 92’ when Nirvana hit the main stage last ever UK show to the time 50 Cent got bottled off stage… these are two of the most iconic festivals in the UK since 1989.

Headliners

Fall Out Boy, Kendrick Lamar, Kings of Leon

The one festival you can release your inner grunge, indie chic and sporty spice all in one look. Alongside the copious amounts of fancy dress looks, Reading & Leeds still showcase some killer style.

For a strong daytime look, pair your vintage sunnies with a mini skirt, the more pattern the better as you’ll probably be needing to throw your pac-a-mac over your outfit.

Don’t worry we didn’t forget the bumbag, your new best festival friend! Pair with any outfit and keep your belongings close to home.

Tip: DON’T FORGET YOUR WELLIES! Leeds lot we’re talking to you. Because we all know how much it rains up north.

Festival No. 6

6th - 9th September

Named after Patrick McGoohan’s character in the tv cult show ‘The Prisoner’, Festival No. 6 is based in a small model village in Portmeirion. Known as the hidden gem of UK festivals, with performances overlooking insta-worthy views and a line up full of some of our favourite UK bands from the early 80s to the mid-00s. We’re sold!

Headliners

Friendly Fires, The The, Franz Ferdinand

A festival with no dress code and stages based in a fantasy village mean anything goes. But we’re feeling inspired by the colours of Portmeirion village with a bold crochet knit, perfect for a walk around the village or an evening in the nearby woodlands, not so surprisingly cosier than a crop top.

Experience the festival through rose-tinted sunglasses, inspired by some of the classic indie bands playing in this year's line-up.

Tip: Wear your comfy shoes! There’s a lot to explore in Portmeirion and a pair of vintage boots will help you along the way.

Getting festival ready doesn’t stop with your wardrobe, festivals produce a lot of un-friendly waste into our environment, and you can help prevent that!

Check out our list of top tips on how to get festival ready sustainably, so you can have the best time checking out your fave bands in the glorious sunshine, guilt-free.
