You Need This Beyond Retro Bag!!

Posted on February 16 2011

I am impossible. My bag collection consists of a few wannabe Chanel purses (even a vintage devotee like myself can’t avoid being outbid in those last few Ebay ‘real-deal’ seconds), a cute Marc Jacobs summer shopper and my all-time every day (and night) favourite, my Beyond Retro tote! But, well, I never have enough space! I can’t make the leap to something oversized with zips, pockets and flouro dashes (I’m working on my love of the Great Outdoors, but that kind of fashion intrigue is far off!) Sometimes, I wish I was a boy. Or, at the very least, a less glamorous girl! Then, I saw this – the answer to my colossal carrying prayers! A rucksack that is actually kinda cool. It comes in subtle,  muted tones, with neat, criss-cross strap detailing and nautical rope ties. The canvas is soft and the shape, though big, is not at all frightening! It wouldn’t look out of place on a hipster boy, with skinny jeans, a vintage bicycle, a notebook and a heavy volume of beat poetry classics to cart around (just a thought!). And hooray! It’s gonna work with my ‘50s prom-wear, full-skirted finery too! And best of all, it won’t make me look like the hunchback of the Northern line when I get the tube to work every morning!
