Vintage Spotlight #48

Posted on August 03 2011

Capes are going to be big news this winter and, while this one won't replace your coat in the colder months, we're indulging ourselves a little early anyway. An easy contender for our favourite Vintage Spotlight yet, this late 1960s suede number is a hippie version of an item that became a fashion staple during that period. The beautiful detailing proves that capes can be decorative as well as practical and has us dreaming of a time when life was all flowers and butterflies... Grab this beauty from Beyond Retro | Brighton and relive Woodstock at Field Day this weekend.

Today we’re looking pretty vain to others in the office.  Not too sure why, maybe it’s the fear of frizz (humidity, people) that’s making us reach for the compact mirror, I can’t tell.  It’s not our fault, but we keep can’t help catching our own reflection in this awesome '80s bag.  The bag, not our reflection, is just too cute to ignore.  Like a great piece of statement jewellery, the simplicity in shape but boldness in colour makes more of an impact than your average bag.  And it really does go with everything.  Now where was I?  Oh yes…I feel pretty…
