Two Shoes, One Pair: New Year Edit!

Posted on December 31 2013

The clock is ticking! The year may be coming to an end, but it sure ain't over yet. With the biggest night of the year about to kick off, party season isn't over until the fat lady sings. Need a little inspiration for your outfit or still looking for something to do? Enter Naomi of Two Shoes, One Pair and photographer Holly McGlynn!

Naomi popped into our Cheshire Street store and rummaged amongst our goodies to pick herself some party season vintage! Take a peak at what the girls got up to:

'This gold plunge dress is a perfect party piece that has a vintage but sexy edge! I love the metallic gold print and ruching around the stomach. The dress is black velvet at the bottom and a definite head-turner! I wore it with my black fur stole and dark green turban'

'I went for a black and gold sequin top with amazing leaf and sheer detailing and mixed it with a gold sparkly skirt, both of course Beyond Retro! I love a vintage turban, so felt this complimented the look perfectly and don't forget the jingle bells sunnies which added to the festive cheese!'

For plenty more pics and an endless stream of vintage inspiration, check out the blog and full edit from Two Shoes, One Pair! How will you be toasting in the New Year? With friends! One of my friends is having a little house party which I think is always the best way to celebrate rather than going out. Champagne, good music and the best company there's no better way to bring in the new year!
Are you a staying in or heading out girl?
Staying in! New Years is always so expensive and overrated so staying in with friends or family is the new going out!
Any tips for places to go last minute?
I have always wanted to go watch the fireworks over the Thames as it looks amazing on TV every year! Next year I will definitely do this- it's rude not to living in London!
Three outfit tips for the big climax of the year:
  1. Sequin overload - It's one of the last chances to wear sequins for the year, look like a human glitter ball and get away with it so run with it!
  2. Texture - Mix texture and embellishment to create head turning ensembles. Velvet, leather, silk and fluff wear them all together and be brave in your dressing
  3. Party proof- Make sure you don't wear something your going to spill beer down and ruin, like a silk dress. Relax and opt for items you can dance and have fun in. No one wants to be cleaning instead of dancing the night away!
