Silence Please...

With The Artist earning ever more accolades and widely tipped to scoop Best Picture at the Oscars, the timing of our latest in-store theme - Silent Film - couldn't have been more fortuitous. After the colourful kitsch of our Christmas displays, we've left festive frivolities behind and headed for the exact opposite, recreating the cinematic glamour and grace of the 1920s using only black, white and different shades of grey and beige. The result is a stunningly elegant homage to the likes of City Lights, Modern Times and Safety Last! with award-worthy performances from an ensemble cast including evening and winter dresses, sequins, lace, furs and vintage hats. We adore this theme and could critique it for hours, but as the silent era proved, a picture is worth a thousand words; so enjoy these photos and be sure to pay us a visit to soak up the cinematic atmosphere yourself...
