Our Favourite Western Fashion Runway Looks

Posted on August 20 2019

In the last couple of months, everyone has been going crazy for cowboys with western-inspired looks. Of course, this style inspiration has come from the internets' new favourite child, Lil Nas X, but fashion designers have long been tapping into to western style. Like 80s glam and 60s chic, cowboy fashion keeps coming back around to make appearances on runways across London, Milan, New York and Paris. To give you a little inspiration we’re running down our favourite western fashion runway looks!

Top Western Inspired Runway Looks

1. Calvin Klein AW18

Satin? Check. Block colours? Check. An absolute look? Check! This glitzy take on Western style is a surprisingly wearable yet glam outfit. An easy one to recreate, find yourself a pair of vintage, smart, colourful trousers and pair with a classic western shirt. Bonus points for wearing a colour-block turtleneck underneath.

2. Balmain Resort 2020

Don those cowboy boots, Balmain are taking us way out west with their resort 2020 collection. Shot against a postcard-perfect desert backdrop the whole collection features cacti imagery, natural fibres and a palette of warm oranges, browns and beiges - of course alongside a LOT of denim. The layering of shirts and jacket makes this the perfect trans-seasonal look so you can ride on into autumn in style.

3. Ashley Williams AW17

The perfect outfit for when you have the rodeo at 4 and the gym at 6. Ashley Williams perfectly sums up quirky London style with her collections and her AW17 offering was no exception. The laid-back sweatsuits were elevated with cowboy styling as models took to the runway in classic stetsons. Take your casual, Sunday stroll to the shops to new fashion heights by adding a cowboy hat to your sweats. Voila! You're so on-trend.

4. Anna Sui SS17

Anna Sui's girly, glam rodeo queen is the perfect mix of cowboy style and prairie chic, bringing together wild-west detailing with gorgeous florals. Get the look with your favourite leather jacket and a classic, vintage, floral dress. Perfect for all kinds of occasions whether you want to update your autumn work wardrobe or need something chic to wear on a Friday night out.

5. Ralph Lauren AW16

Sometimes you've just got to keep it classic. That's exactly what Ralph Lauren did for their Autumn/Winter 2016 collection. If it's not broken, why fix it? Classic straight-fit jeans, a crisp shirt, shawl-scarf and cowboy hat; a classic combination.

6. Brognano Resort 2020

Known for their quirky, fun take on high-end fashion, Brognano has stepped up the cowboy game with their latest collection. Effortlessly cool, super sleek and very wearable, this is the perfect example of how to do western chic in an everyday outfit. Black denim on denim is a BIG look for autumn.
