Beyond Retro's Lizzie Black Wins Elle's 'Shopgirl to Stylist' Competition!

Posted on November 05 2010

Huge, huge congratulations to the supremely talented Lizzie Black,  sales assistant extraordinaire, from Beyond Retro, Soho. Last night she was crowned winner in Elle magazine's 'Shopgirl to Stylist' competition, ending an almost yearlong search for the magazine competition! Thousands of entrants from all over the UK and Ireland applied from high street stores everywhere and in the end, Beyond Retro had two girls in the final ten!  (Amazing coup!) The last task saw the ten girls showcasing their moodboards and styling a live model to be judged by a fashion forward team of experts, including Lorraine Candy (editor of Elle), Giles Deacon, Katie Hillier, LA style guru, Arianne Phillips and Ben Grimes. Of course, there could eonly be 1 winner and it was Lizzie's look that most impressed the Elle panel of judges. Pictured here is Lizzie with her winning 'Nu Austerity' look. Lizzie wins 3 months work experience at Elle Magazine and she will have her own fashion story published in the magazine next month! Click  through here to find out more about all the finalists and look out for a video revealing more about the looks created by all the girls! Beyond Retro feel extremely proud of both of our girls who got so far in the competition and are excited to see what both Lizzie and, our other finalist, Helen (from the Cheshire Street store) come up with next!Winner Lizzie Black with Lorraine CandyLizzie Works Her Magic!Shopgirl to Stylist Finalists
