Bare Thread: Kids Company Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art
This is a fashion exhibition with something different. It has a heart! The 'Bare Thread' exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art is run by the charity 'Kids Company', which works with inner city children. This exhibition presents heartfelt, street stories told through fashion by the young people of Kids Company. The young designers have created their own fashion label 'Bare Thread' and their work includes a collection of individual & group statement pieces and a range of beautiful retail garments . In celebration of their incredible creativity and courage, 20 celebrated British fashion designers, including Matthew Williamson and Giles Deacon have created a series of garments based on the 'Bare Thread' best seller - the ingeniously titled Hood that Hugs.
The exhibition runs until the 30th January 2011.
