Beyond Retro Halloween Extravangza!

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Expect a lot of spooky shenanigans as we kickstart our Halloween Extravanagza this Thursday, at Cheshire Street! We’re so excited about the chance to dress up and be decadent, we have invited along some frighteningly good friends to help us celebrate!

First up, is the awesome Charlie le Mindu, who has created some showstopping artworks for our outdoor East End Lights lightboxes. Weaving together elements of sculpture, architecture and theatre, his work will make you stop dead in your tracks!

Also, on hand with some spooky haircutting surprises will be the brilliant Parlour Macabre! Beware! A swoosh of her magical scissors can transform the scariest of haircuts to something beautiful! She’s sharpening those scissors for Thursday night, so you are guaranteed to leave looking your ghoulsih best! (or worst!)

Parlour Macabre will be cutting hair at Beyond Retro on the night!

And the party doesn’t stop there! Our celebrations continue on Friday 23rd October at our store on Great Marlborough Street, in Soho, with live bands and fabulous shopping until late!

Our very own Ida Jacobsson, Assistant Manager at the Soho store, will be providing a lush backdrop of sunshine pop melodies with her gorgeous band, We Walk on Ice. The indie duo are the perfect blend of dark and light, just the right side of spooky for your Halloween shopping! Also playing are twisted folk set-up The Lost Cavalry.

Fright Night

Monday, November 10th, 2008

This Halloween, Beyond Retro celebrated in style with an evening of costume trying, dress up buying and gory goodies!

The Staff were, of course, on top form with their own freaky fashions. ‘The Demon’, ‘Starchild’, ‘Space Ace’ and ‘Catman’ (aka KISS) were all in attendance…

…along with their number one groupie, a demonic devil, a corpse bride and Alex from Clockwork Orange (complete with Beyond Retro bowler hat).

Everyone went CrAzY for our weird and wonderful costume selection and, inspired by the spooky displays around the shop, customers left looking fantastically freaky!!

Other than the great costumes, shoppers could get their mitts on some tasty treats, including gooey eyeballs, sticky snakes and dangerous dentures. We ate monster munch and did The Monster Mash, It WAS a graveyard smash.

Many people were delighted to find that we had such a large selection of fancy dress and, having simply popped in to have a browse, left with their Halloween costumes taken care of.

Next Halloween remember: Beyond Retro is where the most wicked of creatures go and shop to get their features!
